The numerology and astrology of 2026 tells us that this year is one of those milestones that will impact many years to come. If 2025 was a test run, with outer planets tipping their toes in new signs, but then going back to old signs, 2026 marks the real reset. First of all, it is a Year One (2 + 0 + 2 + 6 = 10 = 1) of new beginnings. It is a fresh new chapter for everyone.
In addition, outer planets Neptune and Saturn move to Aries, which is the beginning of the zodiac. Neptune moves into Aries at the end of January (see Neptune in Aries: A Cosmic Awakening of Passion and Purpose), then Saturn follows mid-February, and at the end of February they meet at 0º Aries. This is quite significant, as it marks a powerful new beginning—a genesis moment we haven’t seen or will see for thousands of years.
Last time this happened (9,000 years ago) was the beginning of agriculture, so that’s the magnitude and scale we’re talking about here, although it won’t be immediately evident. But this conjunction allows us to know that a new era is about to be born, triggering a fundamental redirection in how we experience reality.
On April 25th, Uranus re-enters Gemini to bring change on many levels (see Uranus in Gemini: A Reset of the Mind Toward Reinvention and Freedom). We had a brief taste of this last year, from July to November, but this year, all the outer planets will have completed their sign changes, thus introducing new themes both personally and collectively for years to come.
The shift of Neptune from Pisces, the last sign of the zodiac, to Aries, which is the first sign, creates what astrologers call the “cosmic fissure”: both an ending and a beginning, or the space between “no longer” and “not yet.” This may bring an uncomfortable sense of uncertainty, but it can also open the doors to profound spiritual insights.
It is a bit like the brief space of inner awareness we are in when we first wake up in the morning, after the ego-mind has been asleep. This in-between zone does not last, as the mind quickly becomes active, but if we are able to linger in it, we gain access to a higher perception of Divine Consciousness—a state of no-mind we may also reach by focusing on and expanding the pause between every breath. Of course, these subtle states require great discipline and happen on a personal level, but Neptune’s shift will affect us all in some way.
We Are About to Transform the World
Our ideals are changing and we will want to test and live them, not just dream them (as with Neptune in Pisces). The energy of Aries will give us the courage and willingness to stand up for what is meaningful to us, which also demands the clarity and responsibility of our convictions: What do we really want? What type of life? What kind of world?
It is time to clarify our vision and rediscover our strength to shape a new leadership archetype, both internally and in society at large. Neptune in Aries is our vision in motion and embodiment: a desire that doesn’t wait for permission or even a “perfect plan,” but is rather guided by intuition, faith, self-trust, and inner strength.
Neptune in Aries also prompts humanity to come up with creative solutions and technologies that we’ve never seen before. Add to it the inventive energy of Pluto in Aquarius (see The Power of Pluto in Aquarius and Other Important Changes Ahead) and the curious, exploratory, and innovative approach of Uranus in Gemini, and it’s clear that we’re entering a new age of invention and re-invention. Later down the road, when Saturn conjuncts Uranus in May of 2032, the experimental ideas, technologies, and social models seeded through this period will begin to crystallize into practical, steady systems.
The Uranus Archetype and Inner Freedom
Uranus is a double archetype: the father and the rebel. The first one is represented by the Greek God Ouranous, who gave birth—with Goddess Gaia—to the Titans, the ancestors of the Olympian gods. Father Sky (Ouranous) and Mother Earth (Gaia) symbolize the interplay of Consciousness and Matter (Purusha and Prakriti in Vedic terms), and therefore the origin of human life. In this sense, Uranus is not only the force that designs the Universe but also the intelligence that makes sense of it.
The other archetype associated with Uranus and its modern role in astrology is Prometheus, the rebellious god who stole the fire from the gods and gave it to the humans, thus democratizing knowledge. In this sense, Uranus is the planet of paradigm shifts. It breaks the rules and shakes things up to open our horizons to what lies beyond convention or stagnation.
Uranus is change, freedom, and innovation. In Gemini, it’s on steroids, so we may see a lot of movement, changes, and innovation—perhaps too quickly—as well as an intensified desire for freedom, so it’s important to have activities that ground us to counter all the mental restlessness (how about less time glued to our cell phone?). Gemini is the sign of awareness, information, and knowledge. On a mundane level, we’re talking about AI and supercomputers, as well as moving away from traditional means of communication.
On a spiritual level, it’s about a new relationship with our Subconscious and Superconscious to gain access to the Divine within. The ruler of Gemini is Mercury, the messenger of the gods who could travel through different worlds and realms of existence. Uranus is the higher octave of Mercury, so it can bring our awareness to a whole new level!
To what degree this will affect you will depend on how much of your illusions and your attachment to the material you were able to let go of in the last cycle (Uranus in Taurus); otherwise, it will force you to release it in some way, whether you like it or not.
Bringing Empowering Shifts Into Everyday Life
The second half of 2026 introduces new energies:
- Jupiter enters Leo, nudging us to reclaim our authority from systems that feel too detached from everyday reality, and bringing to the forefront the tension between individual and collective power. It should also shed more light on the abuse (and protection) of children (Epstein files, anyone?).
- Chiron enters Taurus, reinforcing the work of Pluto in Aquarius and the theme of this year to reconsider who we are, what we want, what we stand for, and how we position ourselves in relation to the collective.
- The Lunar Nodes shift from Virgo/Pisces to Leo/Aquarius, adding more weight to all the energies and tendencies I’ve already mentioned here. Since all of these “smaller” aspects engage fixed signs, they will help stabilize the outer planets and crystallize them in daily life. It’s bound to be quite a ride!
In short, the dreams emerging as Neptune conjuncts Saturn in Aries will come into reality through the innovative intelligence of Uranus in Gemini and the transformative collective (and feminine) power of Pluto in Aquarius. We will be able to connect ideas, people, and tools with greater awareness to turn a bold vision into action and fight a good fight for greater freedom.
But taking advantage of these transformative forces demands great clarity of purpose, especially since deep shifts must start from within and won’t happen without the old systems and habits resisting change.
