Most people in the US celebrate Thanksgiving with friends and family today, which is one of my favorite holidays. Not because I believe it was the first time native Americans shared a meal with lost Europeans (I don’t), nor because I think it’s okay to slaughter turkeys or any animal to celebrate anything (I really don’t). But mainly because being thankful for any reason, or expressing gratitude in any way, is honoring the Divine Feminine within and all around.
It requires the humility to recognize that, no matter how tough things can get, life always offers the opportunity to pause and discover new possibilities of perception and action, without which Consciousness wouldn’t continue expanding. In other words, you couldn’t transcend mundane, ego-based urges and seek a higher reality or reach your full potential if you didn’t experience the contrast between pleasure and pain.
Gratitude is a key element to develop an abundant and peaceful mindset, to eventually achieve spiritual freedom. It allows you to open up to something greater and deeper than the usual drama of your ego-mind, and connect to the flow of life with faith. When you give thanks you acknowledge how guided and protected you really are, and this allows you to cultivate the trust that everything is going to be alright—like a divine child willing to let your Divine Mother take care of you.
Be thankful for all the blessings you’ve had in your life, today and every day, as well as the blessings disguised as obstacles and suffering that nudged you to discover the inner resources to overcome them. Both the collective and individual mind, along with your past actions (karma), impressions, and habits of perception tend to pull you away from the flow of Consciousness in the busyness of daily life. But gratitude and contentment are powerful ways to reconnect to it, so take advantage of the collective energy of this day, pause for a moment from the routine to give thanks, and celebrate with your loved ones if you can!
I sure am grateful for your presence in my life. I want to thank you for being alive and willing to heal and grow in these challenging yet wondrous times of Consciousness transformation!
Much Love,
